Chinese steelmakers make worldsteel’s top 10 producers chart

According to the World Steel Association (worldsteel) six Chinese steelmakers ranked in the global top 10 in terms of output.

Hebei Iron and Steel Group was ranked third; Baosteel ranked fourth; Shagang Group sixth; Anshan Iron and Steel Group seventh; Wuhan Iron and Steel Group eighth; and Shougang Group tenth.

Hebei’s steel output figure rose from 45.79Mt in 2013 to 47.09Mt in 2014; Baosteel’s output remained fairly static at 43.3Mt last year and 43.91Mt in 2013. Similarly, steel outputs for Shagang, Anshan, Wuhan and Shougang remained roughly the same, although Wuhan dipped from 39.3Mt in 2013 to 33Mt in 2014.
